Frank Gehry and the Modern Art Movement?
I did a report about Frank Gehry for the class of Modern Art. I know usually do not match the architecture of this region, but I was wondering if anyone have a suggestion for a thesis statement about the possibility of both. Gehry somehow related or conflict of modern art in the 20th century. THANKS!
Modern art can be seen as an evolution of organic forms of Art Nouveau movement before, geometry and functional stresses. Technology is a major component, such as the ideal accessibility. However, Gehry is part of the deconstructionist movement, departure from modernism and functionality to ignore. Knowing this, perhaps thinking about Gehry's work (such as you mentioned, its architecture) and how it fits with this theme. His work, like his Dancing Building can be seen as an architecture without its original purpose. He recently This move to explore in terms of jewelry in the Arts, so maybe you could look into as well. His style seems to support the metal / surface and dive, curvalinear form.
